Objective: Ensure thorough, defect-free inspections while preventing MOLE damage and missed contamination during Quality Visual Inspections (QVIs). Key Principles: Avoid Rushing the Insertion: Do not rush the inspection by inserting the MOLE and starting the evaluation while the working length is only halfway down. Always advance the scope methodically and completely to ensure full coverage. (Preferably both ends of the canula). Inspect the “Butt” (Entrance): When inspecting cannulas, reamers, and any surgical instruments featuring a round entrance, take the time to thoroughly check the “butt” (proximal end/hub). Ensure it is completely clean and free of any bioburden, residue, or contaminants.: “Go slow to go fast.” Taking your time during the initial inspection prevents costly re-work, re-cleaning cycles.
