The MOLE Quality Visual Inspection (QVI) video scope enables you to visualize
structural damage, foreign material, moisture, organic soil, and more inside scopes
or surgical instruments with small lumens. The proper recleaning of these
instruments is critical to patient health and safety.
The MOLE’s main purpose is to equip SPD technicians with the knowledge and
skills to become “Borescopists” who perform specialized Quality Visual Inspections.
The MOLE is a tool providing visual aid to empower Borescopists to make informed,
evidence-based decisions about the instruments under inspection. The MOLE itself
does not make the decision to pass or fail inspected instruments. These decisions
are up to the judgement and knowledge of the Borescopists performing the QVIs.
